Shortly after announcing a comprehensive rebranding, Atlas Ocean Voyages has revealed plans for its next-generation cruise ship. Atlas Adventurer will be a 26,000-gross-ton luxury expedition sailing yacht when it launches in late 2028, marking a new ship series for the line following its existing World-class fleet.
“This new Atlas-class sailing yacht represents the next step in our growth,” said James A. Rodriguez, president and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages. “It allows us to expand our destination footprint into regions our guests have been asking us for, while further solidifying Atlas’ position within the luxury expedition cruise category. As our brand continues to evolve, this vessel is a powerful expression of where we are headed: thoughtful growth, intentional design and deeper global exploration.”
The 690-foot-long ship will feature a reinforced hull built to Ice Class 1B (Polar Category C) certification, along with zero-speed fin stabilizers and two vertical fin stabilizers. Atlas claims these features will allow the ship to navigate globally “with confidence, efficiency and refined performance.”
Private Accommodations
Accommodating up to 400 passengers and serviced by 275 crew members, Adventurer promises to deliver what the line calls “a significantly expanded onboard experience.” All-suite accommodations will offer increased space and upgraded amenities, in addition to expanded public venues.

Public Venues and Expeditionary Features
Guests can look forward to spacious takes on restaurants, social lounges and wellness areas. The ship will feature seven dining venues — including several specialty restaurants — along with a new interactive culinary studio, five lounges and social spaces and two outdoor bars. The fitness and wellness center will be expanded to accompany a large swimming pool.
Purpose-built expedition capabilities will include Zodiacs, luxury motorboats and a marina platform featuring an ocean pool.

Sustainability
Among its sustainability features will be compliance with future zero-emission port regulations and silent running capabilities, allowing access to otherwise restricted ports. The ship will be powered by a 9-megawatt battery system supplemented by wind power. Additional technologies include three carbon-fiber masts, solid sails and advanced marine systems. When conditions permit, the vessel will be capable of zero-emission cruising.
“These advancements highlight our ongoing commitment to sustainable and innovative tourism, while also expanding the destinations we can explore and enhancing the onboard experiences our guests expect,” Ferreira siad. “Atlas Adventurer represents the next evolution in responsible, highly technological, comfortable and safe yacht design.”
Itineraries and Bookings
Atlas Adventurer will first travel to Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, as well as destinations in the Seychelles, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique and South Africa.
