The destination starts the year with excellent numbers and celebrating important events for the sector
Within the framework of the 2023 edition of Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto, a leading event for the travel and tourism industry in the Mexican Pacific, Expedia recognizes Puerto Vallarta for its commitment to the development of tourism in Mexico, once again consolidating itself as one of the the main destinations with the highest attraction of national and international tourists.
The Green Pearl of the Mexican Pacific is one of the tourist sites that generates the most business for this wholesale partner, a leader in assistance and travel sales, so the Port is constantly working on joint actions with Expedia to attract more visitors.
The platform recently revealed in a study that Puerto Vallarta is on the list of the most sought-after sun and beach destinations by international travelers, who want to escape the cold climates of the north, as well as disconnect from the bustle of the city and immerse themselves in an environment of nature and relaxation during the spring vacation period. It should be noted that last year Expedia recognized Jalisco, as it was the second State that generated the highest production in terms of the lodging sector.
“Puerto Vallarta starts its participation in Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta 2023 in a positive way, receiving recognition from Expedia for the destination’s commitment to the development of tourism in Mexico, which encourages the sector to continue working hand in hand with strategic allies and authorities in favor of the Port,” said Luis Villaseñor, director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Advertising of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta.
The green pearl of the Mexican Pacific is the number one sun and beach destination nationwide in hotel occupancy during the first holiday weekend of this year, it also registered the highest number of international passengers to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport in the month of January between the different airports operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico.
