Delta Tops List of Best U.S. Airlines in 2025, According to The Points Guy
Before you rush the gate, take a seat — The Points Guy has just released its annual ranking of the best airlines in America, and there’s a clear winner.
For the seventh consecutive year, Delta Air Lines has been named the best airline in the United States in The Points Guy’s ninth annual Best Airlines Report.
The rankings were based on four key categories: reliability, experience, cost and reach, and loyalty. While Delta didn’t claim the highest score in every category, its consistently strong performance across all four secured its top position — an especially notable achievement given the major CrowdStrike outage last year that led to widespread flight cancellations.
United Airlines came in second place, with Southwest Airlines rounding out the top three. Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines followed in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
“With changing airline policies, systemic delays, and increased scrutiny on air travel, our goal at The Points Guy is to help consumers navigate the constantly evolving aviation landscape,” said Brian Kelly, Founder of The Points Guy. “Our Best Airlines Report thoroughly analyzes each airline’s performance so travelers can make informed decisions — because not all airlines are created equal.”
