New report reveal little interest of tourists for living experiences

The results of Expedia come from a study carried out after the end of the year holidays

The latest Expedia research shows that tourists are tired of the activities of the end of the year parties, so on their next vacation they do not feel like looking for experiences, they only plan what they have called “nothing-cation”.

According to the results of a survey of 4,000 US travelers, in December 34% said they felt exhausted from vacations, and 96% of those surveyed plan to spend part of their next trip doing absolutely nothing. Travelers will look for warm places that offer relaxation. These will be the main features of your next trip, the company reported.

“There is a time and a place for an action-packed vacation itinerary, but our data shows that the first trip after the hectic holiday season requires a more relaxed schedule,” says Melanie Fish, Expedia’s director of brand PR. Group. “For most travelers, making the most of your next vacation means setting aside dedicated time for nothing. One trick to avoid unnecessary stress while planning a vacation-free trip is to combine flights, hotels, and car rentals in the Expedia app, which not only saves you time, but more than 10% off price on average.”

Likewise, the survey showed that 47% of travelers want to start the new year with a trip, 31% as a remedy for anxiety or tired of cold and rainy weather, 34% in January. 62% agree that “doing nothing” is their favorite part of vacation and 61% consider it time well spent. Parents of children under 4 years old have the need to do nothing on their vacations with 49%.
